African American Lectionary National Forum on Culture, Worship, & Preaching (Seminar)
Location: Nashville, TN

The Kelly Miller Smith Institute on Black Church Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School and the African American Pulpit Journal present the African American Lectionary Forum on Culture, Worship, and Preaching: We Who Believe. The conference will be held September 30-October 2, 2010 at the Vanderbilt University Divinity School and the Scarritt Bennett Center. Individuals can register at www.theafricanamericanlectionary.org and download a full schedule of conference speakers and topics. This conference is FREE and open to the public. Healthy Living and Lifestyles Expo (Community Health and Wellness Fair)
Location: Brentwood Baptist Connection Center

October 7, 4 - 9 pmOctober 8, 8 am - 1 pm In its fourth year, the Chamber’s Healthy Living and Lifestyles Expo is held in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, scheduled for Saturday, October 9 at Maryland Farms, Brentwood.It will be the ONLY location to pick up race packets prior to race day. The pick-up booth location will bring thousands of walkers and runners to the Expo.The Expo provides an opportunity for Chamber members in health-related industries to showcase their products and services. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night (Fundraiser)
Time: 7:30 PMLocation: LP Field

Each year the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society holds its Light The Night Walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer in communities throughout the United States and Canada. The thousands of participants carry illuminated balloons and raise funds for patient services and research for better therapies and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. This year Nashville will hold its 11th annual Light The Night Walk, which is 1.75 miles and features live music, food and children’s activities. The walk is open to the public, and participants can go at a leisurely pace, easily completing the walk in less than an hour.Register individually or as part of a team at http://www.lightthenight.org/register/.
